Puget Sound Ministries is pleased to showcase Vashon Island Community Church, which is located in the center of Vashon Island, WA. Vashon Island Community Church began in 1927 when a gathering of Christian believers joined together to start an independent Congregational Church. In November 1979, Pastor Gene Peretti brought the church into affiliation with the Assemblies of God. Then ten years later, the church moved to its present-day location under the guidance of Pastor Frank Davis. Today the Vashon Island Community Church’s current Pastor is Pastor Mike Ivaska. Vashon Island Community Church has had a strong impact on the Kingdom!
Vashon Island Community Church believes the following:
- No one is beyond the reach of the love of God.
- All people are loved by God and in need of His help.
- Jesus Christ is the perfect embodiment of the love of God for humanity.
- As part of Christ’s church, we are called to join Christ in his mission of love and service to the world, starting in the Puget Sound area.
Gal 5:13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
Gal 5:14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Gal 5:15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.
Gal 5:16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
Gal 5:17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.
